Vladimir Putin sent condolences on passing of Zurab Sotkilava

Vladimir Putin conveyed his deepest condolences on the passing of opera singer, People’s Artist of the USSR, Zurab Sotkilava, to the singer’s family and friends.

The message of President Putin reads, in part:
“Zurab Sotkilava had a long life and career. He brilliantly fulfilled himself as an outstanding opera singer of our time. His colleagues and a grateful public highly valued him for his vocal skills, artistic charm and selfless love of music. Mr. Sotkilava left a rich creative heritage; he educated talented students and made a unique contribution to the development of national performance arts.”

Zurab Sotkilava has died in Moscow on the 18th of September at the age of 80.

Putin sent condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain

Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to King Felipe VI of Spain over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in the center of Barcelona.

“We resolutely denounce this cruel and cynical crime against civilians. This attack shows once again the need to pool the efforts of the entire international community in the uncompromising fight against the forces of terror,” emphasized the Russian President.

Putin sent condolences on passing of Vera Glagoleva.

Vladimir Putin expressed his deep condolences to the family and friends of the late Vera Glagoleva, theatre and cinema actress, film director and screenwriter, People’s Artist of Russia.


The message reads:

Please accept my deep condolences and words of support in your time of grief.

Condolences to President of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma

Vladimir Putin sent a message of condolences to the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma on the fatalities caused by a mudslide in a Freetown suburb.


The message reads, in part:

“Please accept our sincere condolences on the numerous casualties due to the mudslide in a Freetown suburb. It is especially tragic that there were many children and teenagers among the victims.

Putin sent condolences to President of Egypt.

Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in connection with the tragic aftermath of a train crash outside Alexandria.

Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed words of sympathy to the friends and families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to those injured in the crash.

Condolences over death of Ilya Glazunov.

Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the family and friends of painter, founder and rector of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, People’s Artist of the Soviet Union Ilya Glazunov on his passing.


The President always considered Ilya Glazunov an outstanding artist of the modern era. They have been friends for a long time.

Ilya Glazunov died at the age of 87 in Moscow.
